Noel Hodda is a National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) Acting graduate. He’s worked extensively in theatre, film, television and radio for over 45 years. Theatre includes plays with The Sydney Theatre Company, The Queensland Theatre Company, Griffin, Marian Street, Q and Railway Street Theatre Companies, The Ensemble Theatre, Sport For Jove, The State Theatre Co. of S.A., Darlinghurst Theatre, Red Line/Neil Gooding Productions/NY Rep and others as well as National and International tours. Multiple television and film appearances include Friday On My Mind, The Bet, Us Together, Small Boxes, Out Of The Blue (BBC); All Saints, Farscape, Blue Heelers, Murder Call, Water Rats, Big Sky, Backberner, Heartbreak High, E Street, Home and Away, Sons and Daughters, McFeast, Bodyline, 1915, Cyclone Tracey and numerous others.

He is also a writer and dramaturge. Plays produced include The Secret House, Half Safe, Photographs, On The Public Record, Across The Water,  Never a Moment’s Peace , The Sculpture Garden and In This Light and for television episodes of the acclaimed ABC medical drama GP.  With Wayne Harrison he was dramaturge for the Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award winning play Codgers.

He has recorded multiple talking books (literally well into the many hundreds over the years)  both commercially and for Vision Australia and the ABC and has been shortlisted for several Talking Book Awards. He won the prestigious TDK/National Library Talking Book Award for his narration of Charles Frazier’s Cold Mountain. Other notable recordings and personal highlights include The Hobbit, the unabridged and complete The Lord of the RingsThe Fortunes of Richard Mahoney trilogy, Things We Didn’t See Coming by Steven Amsterdam and Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief.
